Paman Gober

Pekan Penanaman and Gowes Bersama or better known by "Paman Gober" is SMAN 3 Bandung's event that held on May 9th. The event is cycling together around Bandung city and plants some tree :) This activity has been held for years. And for first grade in SMAN 3 Bandung this is also the first Paman Gober event that we follow.

I didn't brought my bike to there because my house is kinda far from school. Actually I want to borrow SMAN 3's bicycle but too bad I woke up late that day. If you want to borrow a bicycle you must arrived at school at 6 a.m. and I was arrived at school at around 6.45 a.m. There were many people that had arrived before me. Bali field were full with bicycle.
Students who didn't brought their bicycle should walk around 'Indonesian island'. Some of my friends weren't brought their bicycle too, so we run together. After we run, students that brought their bicycle came back to Bali field. They parked their bikes in Bali field.

After that, we ate together and there was an event after that too. But too bad I should come to a family event, so I went home at around 11 a.m.

Song : Bunda

Kubuka album biru
Penuh debu dan usang
Ku pandangi semua gambar diri
Kecil bersih belum ternoda

Pikirkupun melayang
Dahulu penuh kasih
Teringat semua cerita orang
Tentang riwayatku

Reff:
Kata mereka diriku slalu dimanja
Kata mereka diriku slalu dtimang

Nada nada yang indah
Slalu terurai darinya
Tangisan nakal dari bibirku
Takkan jadi deritanya

Tangan halus dan suci
Tlah mengangkat diri ini
Jiwa raga dan seluruh hidup
Rela dia berikan

Back to reff

Oh bunda ada dan tiada dirimuKan slalu ada di dalam hatiku

Natural Phenomenon - Green Flash

How Does Green Flash Happen?

Green flashes are real (not illusory) phenomena seen at sunrise and sunset, when some part of the Sun suddenly changes color (at sunset, from red or orange to green or blue). The word “flash” refers to the sudden appearance and brief duration of this green color, which usually lasts only a second or two at moderate latitudes.

A green flash, which occurs more commonly at sunset — but can also occur at sunrise — is a phenomenon in which part of the sun can be observed suddenly and briefly changing color. It usually lasts only a second or two — which is why it is referred a flash — as the sun changes from red or orange at sunset, for example.

The green flash is viewable because refraction bends the light of the sun. The atmosphere acts as a weak prism, which separates light into various colors. When the sun's disk is fully visible above the horizon, the different colors of light rays overlap to an extent where each individual color can't be seen by the naked eyes.

But what actually causes the green flash? It is the result of the combination of two optical phenomena: a mirage and the dispersion of sunlight.

The first ingredient is a mirage. Like the famed desert mirage, the mirages that cause green flashes are the result of sunlight bending on its way to your eye and creating an image of an object somewhere other than its actual location.

Dispersion is the second ingredient. When the light bends (or refracts) on its way to your eye, the air acts as a prism to split up the light into its constituent colors. So, first the red light from the sun sets, followed by yellow, green, blue and violet.

How Green Flash Happen?

When the sun starts to dip below the horizon the colors of the spectrum disappear one at a time, starting with those with the longest wavelengths to those with the shortest. At sunrise, the process is reversed, and a green flash may occur as the top of the sun peeks above the horizon.

It is a primarily a green flash because more green light gets through and therefore is more clearly seen. Sometimes, when the air is especially clear, enough of the blue or violet light rays make it through the atmosphere, causing a blue flash to be visible. However, green is the most common hue reported and captured in photos.

To the untrained eye, all green flashes may look the same. In fact there are a total of four types:
- the inferior-mirage flash
- the mock-mirage flash
- the sub-duct flash and
- the green ray.

What conditions are required to see the green flash?

The green flash is best observed when you have a clear view of the horizon uncluttered by foreground objects and pollution free. This usually means you need to see a distance of several miles "out", almost to the point where the curvature of the Earth defines the limit. This is primarily why stories of seeing the green flash frequently occur at the ocean. This is due to the additional amount of atmosphere one is looking through at the horizon when the Sun is setting. In addition - and equally important - is the fact that the line of sight is nearly parallel to the horizon.

Why is it called a "green" flash and not a "blue" flash?

Because contamination in the atmosphere scatters blue light removing it from the line of sight. More green light gets through and therefore is more clearly seen. In extraordinary conditions, a "blue" flash might be seen.

Actually, all celestial objects experience the same effect near the horizon; it is possible to see "green flashes" from the setting Moon, Venus, or bright stars like Sirius.

The green flash is an atmospheric refractive phenomenon where the top edge of the Sun will momentarily turn green. It is seen rarely by the naked eye, primarily because it requires specific conditions to occur, but also because it requires the observer to know what to look for. Despite the name, there is no "flash"; the event only lasts from a fraction of a second to at the longest, a few seconds.

My Holiday

Last holiday I went to Cikole, Lembang to camping with my friends and my friend's family. My friend name is Rani and Echa. Actually it was for Papa Ijal's (Rani's father) company camp but Mami Icka (Rani's mother) said Rani can invite her friends to join that camp. So, I and Echa were invited by Rani. On 4th January at 7 a.m. Echa came to my house and woke me up. Then I took a bath for about 10 minutes and getting ready. After that we went to Rani's house. Of course I said good bye to my parents before go to there.

In Rani's house we had breakfast and wait for others to get ready. I and Echa talked with Rani's family while waited the others families that not ready and had not come that time. At 10 a.m. we went to Cikole with some cars. I went there with Papa Ijal's car. On the way we talked a lot. At 12 a.m. we finnaly arrived at Cikole.

After that we went to the cottage to wait the tent that was not ready. Some families will sleep in the cottage and some families will sleep in the tent. Of course I, Echa, and Rani's family slept in the tent. I guess if we're camping it'll be better if we slept in the tent and not in the cottage, because we can feel like we really are camping in the outdoors. There are about 6 people in one tent. But in my tent there are only 5 people. It's me, Echa, Rani, Ka Uti, and Ka Bebi. After gets ready, I, Echa, and Rani looking for twigs for the campfire. We had many twigs after searching for about 15 minutes. After that we had lunch on the tent. The food was really delicious. Maybe it's because we were hungry that time.

We palyed kasti too in there. We used wood for the bat and we wrapped some pines with plastick for the ball. After that we took a break for a bit because we were exhausted after playing one and a half hour. But not too long after that, we started to played pine war. We just have to throwing pine to the others group. We played pine war for about one hour and we took a break again. It was very fun. Too bad my nose hitted by a pine really hard, my nose got injured and a little bleeding. It was hurt but I don't really care because I had more fun than hurt.

After that, I, Echa, and Rani made a small campfire ourself. We ate roasted corn that roasted by our campfire. After that we took a break again. At night the member of Papa Ijal's company held a conversation. Somehow we should follow that conversation even though we aren't the member of that company or the family of the member of that company. The conversation held until 10 p.m. Then Papa Ijal held a dance competition. The group who win will get some money from Papa Ijal's pocket. But my group didn't won. After that competition, we waited  for dinner but because the dinner came very late we decided to take a slept because we were very sleepy and exhausted, it was 12 p.m. too.

On 5th January at 6 a.m. I woke up. Even if Cikole at night was really really cold, but in the morning the weather was really warm. Moreover if you stay at the light from the sun. By the way I ate my dinner food for the breakfast. Rani said the food was came at 1 a.m. After that we washed our face and played badminton. Rani's sister brought the rackets and shuttlecock. And after we took a break for about 15 minutes we played kasti again. Too bad the ball (wrapped pines) was gone in the middle of the match, so we stopped the match.

At 11 a.m. we went to the place that for outbound. Some families went to strawberry garden and the other went to ATV place too. That outbound have 4 activities. That was very fun. After outbound we had lunch and took some photos. We went home at 3 p.m.. That camp was really cool and fun! I hope I can go to there again.
